Narsi Family

Every day with Narsi feels like family time according to Shernet Duncan. As Human Resources Manager, Shernet knows all about the family culture we like to cultivate in our workplace. But to Shernet, there’s something extra special about the holiday season.

“It’s a cold season but a warm feeling,” says Shernet. She explains that the holidays just bring a different energy to each day.

Shernet’s Family Traditions

Each year, Shernet looks forward to decorating with her three daughters and coming up with homemade Jamaican meals to enjoy with her family. When it comes to cooking and decorating, Shernet is no stranger to Pinterest and loves to look up new ideas. She shares that her family will be making a pot roast for Christmas…can we all come over for dinner?

Above the decorations and the food, time with family creates the fondest holiday memories for Shernet. Since her daughters are all grown up (ages 13, 17, & 21), the family has moved away from gift-giving and focuses on creating memories. In addition to chatting, cooking, and playing games, Shernet has had this year’s family Christmas pajamas picked out since last year!

A Narsi Family Holiday

Fond memories are also created around the holidays with the Narsi team! Each location has their own festivities, such as gingerbread house competitions, ugly sweater days, and holiday parties. As mentioned in our Preparing for the Holidays blog, Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the grinch make their annual rounds to each hotel – pictured below.

Shernet raves about the warm and fuzzy feeling that the holidays bring into the workplace. Each family member has a different background or tradition they bring to the team. No matter how or if each team member celebrates, it is a joyous time that brings the whole family together.

Take Shernet’s advice: from personal to work life, focus on creating fond memories with your favorite people this season.

We at Narsi wish you and your family the happiest of holidays. Whether you’re staying with us, working with us, or just want to stop in and say hi, let us know how you celebrate this season!
